Barry Whitbride was found after he went missing Wednesday (Dec. 28), his son Zach said.
In a tweet, he said his father had Alzheimer’s disease and was last seen Wednesday in downtown Warrington, northwest Britain.
He later said his father was found in the nearby town of Highton around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, adding that his father was still a bit confused but unharmed.
“I can’t thank everyone enough for reporting my dad,” Zach wrote.
Whitbride led the Lions to the 1998 Tiger Cup trophy, Singapore’s first international soccer title. The Englishman coached Singapore for about three years.
Cheshire police previously sought the public’s help to find the 73-year-old man.
